In October 2025, I traveled to Hawaii and had the absolute privilege of teaching Yoga and staying at Sunshine's Sacred Sanctuary. I cannot recommend this retreat center highly enough for hosting a wellness, yoga, meditation, or healing retreat. Sunshine and her incredible staff go above and beyond to support their guests and also help retreat leaders plan and execute truly special offerings. The land itself is absolutely breathtaking and deeply nourishing-you can literally enjoy fresh fruit and avocados right off the trees. We stayed in a yurt with comfy beds and an attached bathroom with shower. I spent a full week there and slept wonderfully every night. The entire experience felt peaceful, grounding, and well cared for. On top of everything, the local community was so kind and welcoming, which made our experience more special. I had the absolute honor of teaching yoga and sound healing for a private retreat group here, and the space held us so beautifully. From the moment we arrived, there was a palpable sense of peace, intention, and care woven into every detail. The energy of the land and caretakers Alicia and Greg are grounding and nurturing. The space itself is thoughtfully curated, and Sunshine is a radiant, attentive host who genuinely understands what it means to create a sacred container for healing and connection. Everything flowed with ease, allowing our group to fully drop in, soften, and receive. If you’re looking for a place that supports deep rest, transformation, and heart-centered experiences—whether as a facilitator or a guest—Sunshine’s Sacred Sanctuary is an absolute gem. Sunshine Sacred Sanctuary is such an amazing place!! The energy that the area holds is so inviting and relaxing. It is the perfect place to unplug and unwind. Take a step back and be part of nature. Spending anywhere from a couple of days or a couple of weeks, every day is its own and beyond enjoyable. The intentionality of design, being among fruit groves, makes for a welcoming setting. I've stayed solo and hosted a retreat here. Such a wonderful space - I'm planning more in 2026. The staff is responsive and delightful, providing recommendations on what do, where to go - though simply being at the sanctuary is enough. As soon as I passed through the gates marking the entrance to the sanctuary, I felt a calm come over me that I had not known I needed. During the seven days that followed, the sanctuary seemed to provide for every need I had—those I knew of and those I did not. This property is alive!!—as evidenced by the abundant, fruitful trees in the orchard, the coqui frogs singing every night, the glorious display of the tropical sky, and even the short bursts of rain delivered to nourish the land. My visit to the sanctuary brought me a peace I haven’t had in years from the fast-paced, high stress life I have been living. My only regret is not being there during an event – a spiritually-led retreat at the sanctuary is next on my list! If just being there evoked such a response in me, I cannot imagine the magical potential this land holds with someone wiser and more knowledgeable at the helm to guide me in learning. Í thoroughly enjoyed my retreat time at Sunshine’s Sacred Sanctuary. The retreat spaces and accommodations were not only well appointed but also very serene and picturesque. The yurt I stayed in was very nice with a private bath and kitchen and I can’t forget to mention the bed, it was very very comfortable. The sound of the frogs lulling you to sleep at night made for wonderful restful sleep. The well kept grounds were wonderful to explore. It was a truly peaceful and wonderful stay. I left thoroughly rested and restored, body, mind and spirit. A truly magical location.Load more
