Our Mission
In these chaotic and rapidly changing times, all of us are in need of healing and transformation. The Earth is calling for humans to remember our humanity and our divinity—and to return to a more earth-based way of living. It is essential for not only the restoration of our ecosystems, but also of our mind, bodies and souls.
However, so many of us live in fast paced, nature starved, highly individualistic and productivity focused lives. So getting into an earth-based, heart-centered, and spirit led rhythm, while still living in the modern world, can be quiet the challenge. Even when we long for it with every fiber of our being, the transformation we seek can’t just be purchased instantly through a screen while our everyday lives remain unchanged.
If we want to see real change in the world, it means changing our lives from within. Sometimes what we need most to change our patterning is to opt out of the regular patterns of our lives and to immerse ourselves in a different way of being, land, culture, and community! This can provide us with a reset and an infusion of new energetic patterns, that we can integrate into ourselves and take back into the modern world to BE the change we wish to see.
That’s where we come in. Sunshine Sacred Sanctuary is a respite—a retreat—an opportunity to step out of the modern grind and back into nature. This is a place where people can come together, powered and held by the beauty of the Earth, to transform, heal, and remember who they really are.
The Farm
Located in the Puna District of the Island of Hawai’i, Sunshine Sacred Sanctuary is a deeply powerful portal that supports holistic healing. Through the energetics, raw beauty, serenity and healing power of this Aina, Sunshine Sacred Sanctuary is truly a sanctuary for all those who seek healing and positivity.
This lush 5 acre fruit farm is full of life, nourishment and peace!
All year round we are blessed with an abundance of fruit of many varieties! The orchards also make for a beautiful place to meditate, play, pray, create, contemplate, and grow!Listening to the many bird songs, watching the resident Hawaiian Hawks (Io) fly ahead, getting licks and nuzzles from one of our many furry friends (#mustlovedogs), eating fresh fruit off the tree, and enjoying a bonfire and BBQ are just some of the deeply nourishing simple joys that the farm has to offer.
In addition to the joys of the farm, our guests also get the chance to enjoy the many local attractions and nearby sacred sites!
Located just 10 mins from Pahoa Town enjoy the ease of town access while also having just a short 30 minute drive to lower Puna which boasts the infamous Red Road, Uncle Robert’s, Kahena Black Lava Sand Beach, Pohoiki Lava Powered Hot Ponds, World Renowned Kalani Ecstatic Dance, Sundari Gardens Spa, and Kapoho Mermaid Ponds! Drive 1 hour South and you can find yourself in Volcanoes National Park, or 1 hour North to Mauna Kea! (Learn more about all of these attractions and more on our Local Resources Page)
Sunshines Story
Sunshine Bradshaw wasn’t looking to create a retreat center in Hawai’i. She travelled to the Big Island in 2023 and fell in love with the people, culture, Aina and Pele, the Volcano Goddess. What began as a dream of maybe one day living in Hawai’i, quickly manifested into a presently unfolding reality as she was guided beyond her dreams and visions to the property to what is now Sunshine Sacred Sanctuary.
When she first drove onto the Farm, she instantly knew it was meant to be and that she had found her home—that’s even before she saw any of the existing structures or the whole of the property! It was a clear ping from Spirit, and a clear calling from the land—her heart knew it, even though it was more than she ever imagined taking on. While still living full time in Washington State, Sunshine visited the farm as often as she could as she found it brought deep healing to her mind, body and soul. After falling deeply in love with the farm, and receiving so much healing and nourishment from the Aina, Sunshine began hearing the call from the Aina to create a space for others to gather here to also receive the healing energies it has to share.
Since then it has been a labor of love as Sunshine and her crew of handymen and caretakers took on the project of creating spaces for others, near and far, to come and gather and receive the love and healing this Aina has to share. With a focus on easy down-to-earth living, the Sanctuary’s guest spaces have all been created to help people feel readily connected to the potent nature here, and receive its healing benefits.
