October 19 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

A Workshop in Puna Twist & Ku‘i Style Lei
Sunday, October 19th at 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Sunshine’s Sacred Sanctuary
Hosted by Victorya & Trina
There will be a choice of lei: Hilo Twist (lāʻī ti-leaf) or Kui style flower lei (string and needle).
Together, we will create lei as offerings to honor Pele, with aloha and intention.
WORKSHOP FLOW
- Opening — Hawaiian protocol (pule/chant) to set intentions. Gather for choice of Hilo Twist or Kui style lei with care. Each participant will be working on their choice of lei to offer as ho‘okupu to Pele. Introducing a few Hawaiian words as we hana.
- Closing — Hawaiian protocol (reflection & mahalo).
THINGS TO REMEMBER
- Bring an open heart and spirit of aloha.
- Respect the lāʻī (ti-leaf) it is protective and sacred.
- Every lei is more than adornment; it is a prayer and offering.
CULTURAL NOTE
Pele is honored as the akua (goddess) of fire, volcanoes, and creation in Hawai‘i. Offering lei to Pele is a way of showing respect, gratitude, and connection to the land.
